Born in the UK in 1969 Jasm Auty, who prefers to be known as ‘Jaz’,
graduated from London's Chelsea School of Art and Design in 1991.
He then went on to complete his BA (Hons) at the London College of
Printing & Distributive Trades in 1995.

His work begins with no pre-planned sketches. A rough idea is put
straight to canvas. Art is as art should be, an autobiography of sights,
sounds and even fears. This is expressed not only through the subject
in the painting, but also the colours and techniques used: "It helps me
release my confusion, anger, and frustration and deal with the lack of
order in general life... art is my therapy".
